Frequently Asked

Questions…

Why should I bother with wellness and counselling?

It may be the difference between keeping staff, solving problems, having a productive, happy team, or staff leaving.

What do I do with my problem staff?

Phone Redcliffe Counselling 0487 844 603 and talk to us about how we can manage that situation with you.  We believe your staff need good interventions that are brief, direct to the point but most of all useful so, you can get back to running the company and the teams can get back to work.

For example, we assist you to help your employees to understand their relationship issues, mental health and emotional wellness.  Some of these conversations may be with individual but if it is a common issue that runs through the teams then creating a topic specific workshop could prevent the issue becoming a problem.

I want to help my staff how do I do that?

Phone Redcliffe Counselling 0487 844 603.  Today life can be complicated, there is no black and white, we can work with you to simplify that.  Let Redcliffe Counselling work with your staff to develop resilience and positive mental health as we navigate differences.

This might be done through individual counselling or as team workshops dealing with such issues as stress, bullying, and cultural and lifestyle diversity.

What will this cost my business?

Staff retention is a major issue at this time. Losing good staff will mean going through the time and expense of recruiting new staff. Redcliffe Counselling is a great return on investment because mentally healthy staff means a well-functioning environment.

Can Redcliffe Counselling stop the issues before they become issues?

Yes, we have a two-prong framework that we use – Prevention and Intervention.

Tanya works with people to address the patterns, behaviours, and cycles we have in our everyday life and at work so they don’t break us down but are able to bend and lean in towards good mental health, well-being, and positive relationships with our selves and others.

Corinne engages with teams to create new information and ways of working together that create healthier workplaces that are more able to deal with diversity and change so they emerge as a more productive and healthier team.

There is no issue or situation that we cannot address and work within our scope of practice.

My staff are spending all their time on their mobile phones, how do I get them working?

We act as circuit breakers to ensure your staff are traveling well in their roles. We work with people to find out what are the underlying ‘why’ of the behaviour occurring.

For example, are the staff incompetent or are they not engaged and/or focused on what they are doing? What potential barriers are occurring for them not to be concentrating on their work or having less than ideal dealings with other team members or clients?

Having a conversation about these issues can really assist people to have insight into their own patterns, behaviours, and cycles. Once they are mindful of the situation then different outcomes can occur but until then it just continues to be an issue.

Why should I be running workshops for my staff?

Workshops have some great advantages as they are team-building opportunities, all the staff is hearing the same message at the same time so they are able to support each other’s learning, and its one short period of time to hear the same baseline information.

All this in a well-presented one-hour group so it can save money and increase productivity because everyone is on the same page. It could also be a space where people can learn about how to draw on resources for extra support such as external support that will encourage them to build on the new strategies that have been presented to them.

Running workshops also mean that your business is ticking the box of education and ongoing development for your staff.  Workshops allow your teams to be progressively growing and connecting with skills that can create more positive outcomes for their work and life environments.

I’ve been to counselling before and it didn't work...why is this different?

I’m sorry it didn’t work for you. Like all professional trades, we have people who are underqualified and unable to provide a good service.
Tanya is a highly qualified and skilled counsellor who is good at what she does. Tanya is all about ensuring people connect well so they can get busy and start focusing on what is happening for you and how to achieve your best outcomes.

Are your Counselling services expensive?

When you need a professional you pay for a professional. We at Redcliffe Counselling have processes that reflect our ability to be brief in our work with you, we do our job well and with experience to back up our work.

Our services are brief, direct, and useful – we are value for money because we are effective.

Why are you called Redcliffe Counselling when you work with Employee Wellness Services, and WorkCover clients as well?

We are Redcliffe Counselling because our core focus is working with people to be mentally well by using proven models, tools, and strategies that ensure people are able to live resilient and emotionally healthy lives.

We are called Redcliffe Counselling because we have a genuine desire to assist individual people and teams reach their full potential as wonderfully lifestyle diverse, culturally diverse, and comfortable in their own skin as possible to live true and authentic lives tolerate and able to support each other without feeling the need to bully or be threatened by lifestyles, values, and ways that are different than their own.

Why do we need a clinical counsellor and a professional presenter, we’ve done okay so far?

Because qualifications and years of experience mean we are effective in what we do when we are working for and with you.
It’s important that you work with people that can support you with new knowledge, tools, and strategies to create change in the situations that you are all dealing with.
Qualifications and experience mean we can quickly assess the situation, be direct in our approach to the issue you are dealing with, and be useful in how we can create a plan with you to move forward toward better outcomes.

Corinne engages with teams to create new information and ways of working together that create healthier workplaces that are more able to deal with diversity and change so they emerge as a more productive and healthier team.

Tanya works with people to address the patterns behaviours and cycles we have in our everyday life and at work so they don’t break us down but are able to bend and lean in towards good mental health, well-being, and positive relationships with ourselves and others.

We are fabulous because we supply the preventative interventions before workplace issues become a hassle and prevent those that are an issue from becoming more of an issue.

You want results, work with experience.

We're OK as we are, why do we even need interventions and prevention in our work and personal work lives?

Because life can be difficult especially when you’re trying to navigate it alone.
That can be the person who is trying to run a business without knowing how to effectively support their team to be more productive or the person who is living a diverse lifestyle trying to be okay in a world that doesn’t often handle what’s different well and us feeling ostracised and alone.

Why do we need a presenter running workshops with our people and team?

Because we can all learn together, use the time to hear the same message, and ask questions that impact your environment. It’s also a time to learn where you can access more support if you need it.
Allowing an external person to work on site with you and your team allows for new information to be given and for old ways (patterns, behaviours and cycles) to be reconsidered so you can move forward as a team.
