Redcliffe Counselling Services

Counselling

Counselling is the provision of professional assistance and guidance, where a person is heard and supported within their issue.  It is a space where people can recognise their own strengths, values and abilities to move towards the life they want according to their desires and outcomes.

Counselling is an intentional conversation about a variety of subjects such as relationships, events that have occurred, issues with depression and/or anxiety etc.

Whatever brings you to counselling, it is okay for you to talk about it.  We will discuss what you need to talk about and I will be guided by your best outcomes when we move into how to change the current situation.

Counselling is generally a brief intervention, as it supports people to deal with events and emotions in a present-day context. Sessions are generally for 60-75 minutes.  At our first session, we will discuss the boundaries of confidently and sign a counselling agreement, so we are both on the same page in regard to each other’s responsibilities in and out of our sessions.

As we near the end of the first session, I will have a therapeutic plan about how best to meet the needs you have.  We can then work out this plan to best meet your needs to reach your outcomes.
